Summer Events at the Library

Here is an updated calendar of the events we are offering this summer at the Bowman Regional Public Library! Please note: due to limited space and supplies, registration is required. You may register by calling us at 701-523-3797 or emailing us at bowlib@gmail.com. Each event will run twice so be sure to specify which day/time you are registering for.

Calling or emailing is the best way to secure your registration, as social media comments and messages may be accidentally missed, and we cannot guarantee that they will be received in time if events fill up fast.

Summer Reading 2022

Summer Reading is finally here!!! We have challenges for every age. Track your summer reading and earn prizes along the way! Each challenge has a paper version or you can track it all online at https://bowmanlibrary.beanstack.org.

Here is a little bit about each challenge being offered:

Pre-K: Complete the Activity Bingo card by choosing to read books to your child in ways that fit each of the 9 prompts. Once you have completed all 9, a blackout, turn it in, or contact the library to receive a prize! (Paper Version can be picked up at the front desk.)

Ages 5-12: Track 20 hours of summer reading and complete the included Activity Bingo card and earn prizes along the way! (Paper version can be picked up at the front desk.)

Ages 12-17 (Teens): Set your own reading goals and smash them! Once completed, contact the library for a prize! (Paper version can be picked up at the front desk.)

Ages 18+ (Adults): Read 6 books, each book having an option of 3 different keywords. You must pick a title that includes one of the keywords for each book. (Check out our new display for the paper version and some ideas to get you started!)

Print and color (or not)

Ok here’s your challenge: we’ve started this drawing now it’s up to you to finish it. How will you do that? Will you continue using a black marker and add more lines? A bevy of geometric motifs? Or will you add COLOR? Maybe just black, white and red? Or an explosion of the color wheel? It’s all up to you!

We want to see your finished work! Share on social media with the hashtag #BOCOmakeanddo

No-Contact Curbside Pickup service

Curbside pickup begins on Wednesday, May 6th. ❤️

How do you use curbside pickup?

Reserve your items online at the library’s website using your library card. Go to www.bowmanlibrary.com and use our online catalog. Or call the library at 701-523-3797 from 10am – 2pm Monday – Wednesday.

We will bag your items and have them ready for pickup on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Pickup is from 11 am to 2 pm.

To keep this contact-free, your bagged items will be at the front of the library. Your bag will have the last four digits of your phone number written on it.

We reserve the right to tweak this process as we figure out the best way to serve you!

No returns accepted at this time. Keep any current items you have checked out right now and we will extend all due dates and make sure no fines accrue.

Be well. <3

Signs of Spring Scavenger Hunt

Here’s a little something fun to do in honor of Spring while still maintaining the practice of social distancing!

This is your chance to take a break from your phone, get present, and fully be in the moment just observing your scavenger finds. Let it be an opportunity to fuel your creativity by taking your own photos of what you come up with!

Do what you need to and just have fun!!

Can you hear and see a Meadowlark? Can you find a sunrise?
Can you find a sunset?
Can you take deep breath of spring air?
Can you find a crocus?
Can you find a tree?
Can you find a muddy footprint or an animal track?
Can you feel the grass beneath your feet?
Can you find cloud? Can you find a feather?
